Southern Style Now Showhouse: Savannah, GA
In November of 2017, the second annual Southern Style Now design festival descended upon Savannah, Georgia. The festival brought with it speakers, networking events, and galas, but the centerpiece was the showhouse. The house itself is a freestanding Greek Revival home in the heart of the Historic District of Downtown Savannah. It was built in 1854 overlooking Monterey Square and is now listed on the National Historic Registry.
A total of 23 designers participated in the showhouse and every one of them designed their spaces to the fullest! Each room exuded personality and embraced traditional design in the best way.
Now for most people, Savannah is a destination spot. But for a lucky 10,000 students at the Savannah College of Art and Design, they call it home. While I was still at SCAD, I was fortunate enough to volunteer at the showhouse which really just meant I got to spend hours in a gorgeous house with very few interruptions. Here are just a FEW of our favorites from Jared Hughes, Kevin Walsh, Mary Jo Bochner, Chad James, Denise McGaha, MA Allen, Brockschmidt & Coleman, Lily Brown, and Meredith Ellis.
